Dwarf Cypress Tree
I purchased some seed products that originated from a very beautiful 'dwarf palm' tree. It required a very long time to germinate but it is now?
about 2' tall from surface of pot to surface of highest frond. I'm going to take it in, I am in zone 5, this will let you couple of questions. I don't recall the species. I can not find any pictures or information on the internet relating to this plant. It doesn't resemble any dwarf palm on care sites. The fronds tend to be narrower than most pictured. Also, the roots in the stem towards the pot are uncovered, somewhat just like a cypress tree. The crown is sort of round but riding about the uncovered roots.
It required off this summer time, growing from the small plant to towards the one mentioned above. It had been watered two times daily and received full sun for 12 hrs+.
It's within an 8" pot. How do you know if it requires re-planting? Would be the uncovered roots normal or did I err in getting them come out by doing this? Does anybody possess a clue as to the species I've?
Thanks.
I required some pictures from the plant. I published them on Kodak gallery. The url is

Whenever you order something you don't know, the organization could make a myriad of claims concerning the plant so when it works out to appear or act diverse from you would expect, you usually blame yourself for improper care. Most palms store water just like a camel. Waiting sometimes days for the following rain storm to refresh them. It's difficult to think it made it watering two times each day. That could take into account the rapid growth. I additionally reside in zone 5 and winter brings reduced light and warmth this can modify the rate of growth of anything. I've got a standard palm comparable size as yours, although there's nothing exotic about this. I move it to strained light within the summer time and produce it in at fall to keep it on the desk before a vibrant window. You will not have to water it but once per week, fertilize it monthly and do not place it on the register that will permit the dry warmth to break the foliage.
